On Friday, January 23, 2026, the Barstow Senior Center hosted a very special event — the first annual Jeff Eason Sr. Memorial Bingo Session, held in loving memory of the longtime president who dedicated 22 years to serving Barstow’s senior community. After his passing in January 2025, the Board and community knew that the best way to honor his legacy was with something he championed, loved, and helped grow: Bingo Night.
The event kicked off with doors opening at 4:30 p.m., and it didn’t take long for the building to fill with excitement, laughter, and the kind of warm camaraderie Jeff worked tirelessly to foster. By the time the first number was called at 6:00 p.m., the house was packed — a true testament to how deeply Jeff’s work touched the hearts of so many in Barstow.
To honor his years of leadership and the programs he helped build, the Senior Center raised the stakes with guaranteed higher payouts, offering a minimum of $250 per main game. Players were thrilled, cheering with every win, and the energy throughout the evening made it clear that Jeff’s spirit — joyful, generous, and community-focused — was very much present.
There were no presale tickets; instead, the full room came together as one big family of players, sharing memories, swapping stories, and enjoying a night Jeff would have loved. For this inaugural session, the turnout exceeded expectations, ensuring the $250 payouts with a strong, supportive crowd.
Jeff Eason Sr. spent more than two decades fighting for better programs, more activities, and expanded services for Barstow’s seniors. He started new initiatives, pushed for growth, and worked tirelessly for the people he cared about. His dedication left a lasting mark on the center and the community at large — one that won’t soon be forgotten.
The Memorial Bingo Session will now be held annually, continuing to honor Jeff’s legacy with the joy, connection, and community spirit he championed.
To everyone who came out, thank you for helping make this first memorial event such a heartfelt success. Jeff would have been proud.
