It was a big job that had been waiting a long time—and it didn’t take long at all once the right team showed up.

Recently, an incredible group of Soldiers from Fort Irwin, known as the Wolf Team under Captain Noah Wyka, volunteered their time and muscle to help the Barstow Senior Center tackle a storage container that had been collecting items for nearly 30 years. What could have taken days for a small crew was handled in about an hour thanks to their energy, organization, and teamwork.

Led by Jesus, who helped coordinate the effort, the team jumped right in—sorting, lifting, hauling, and clearing with efficiency and good spirits. Boxes were moved, space was reclaimed, and years of stored items were finally organized and cleared out. It was truly impressive to watch such a dedicated group work together so seamlessly.

Their help made a huge difference for the center and for everyone who uses the space. More importantly, it reminded us how strong the connection is between our local military community and the seniors here in Barstow.

To Captain Wyka, Jesus, and every member of the Wolf Team: thank you. Thank you for your time, your teamwork, and your willingness to serve—not just our country, but your local community as well. Your efforts were felt and appreciated more than you know.

Go Army—and thank you for your service!
