For decades, the Barstow Senior Nutrition Program and Home Delivered Meals Program have been nourishing the senior citizens of the High Desert — body, mind, and spirit. What began as a simple community service has grown into a lifeline of connection, care, and daily support for hundreds of older adults who call our desert home.
Every weekday, the kitchen at the Barstow Senior Center comes to life before the sun is even up. Our team prepares over 900 fresh, nutritious meals every day, ensuring seniors across the region receive the foods they need to stay healthy and energized.
We are grateful for support from the San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services – Public Guardian, funded through a grant from the California Department of Aging — helping us keep our doors open and our hearts full.

We serve Monday–Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
About 100 seniors dine with us daily, turning lunchtime into a place to socialize, catch up with friends, and feel right at home. Everyone is welcome to pull up a chair.
Effective 1/2/26: Suggested contribution is $5.00 and guest meals are $13.00.
If you or someone you know could benefit from daily meal deliveries, applying for Home Delivered Meals is simple and supportive. This program is designed for homebound seniors who have difficulty preparing meals or getting out of the house. Our staff will guide you through the easy application process and help determine eligibility. Once enrolled, you’ll receive nutritious meals delivered right to your door each week.
During the holiday season, we make sure every senior feels the warmth of community and the comfort of a festive meal. Our special holiday lunches feature seasonal favorites and are crafted with extra care — thanks in part to 100+ community volunteers who help pack and deliver meals with heart. We’re also supported by generous donations from local organizations and businesses, whose kindness helps us reach even more seniors.
